@startoverstrategy: After divorce, especially after a controlling marriage or high-control religious environment, many women make a silent promise to themselves: "I will never depend on anyone again." And honestly? That makes sense. When dependence has been painful, limiting, or used against you, independence feels safe. It feels powerful. It feels like freedom. But over time, some of us swing so far toward independence that we become hyper-independent. We stop asking for help. We stop receiving support. We carry everything ourselves. And while that may feel safer, it isn't how humans were designed to live. The goal isn't dependence. The goal isn't subjugation. The goal is healthy interdependence. Healthy adults help one another. Healthy adults contribute. Healthy adults receive support when they need it. For many women rebuilding after divorce, this can be surprisingly triggering. Relying on someone else can bring up fears of losing control. Fears of being trapped. Fears of becoming dependent again. But healthy support is not the same thing as unhealthy dependence. You can be fully capable, fully autonomous, and still need people. You can trust yourself and also lean on others. You can be strong and supported at the same time. Healing isn't learning to do everything alone. Healing is learning the difference between control and connection. #HyperIndependence #StartingOverAfterDivorce #RecoveringSelfTrust #WomenRebuilding #HealthyRelationships
