Introducing: The Butterfly Project 🦋 This began with one small painting, made on the side of a highway. A father in Germany gifted it to his daughter. A year later, she reached out—after he had passed—asking for a butterfly to place on his grave. That moment, pure and unprompted, showed me the true power of art to heal. I made two butterflies: one for her, and one for him— so they could fly into eternity together. Inspired by her honesty, her grief, and her heart, I’m launching the Butterfly Project. It begins with 50 hand-painted butterflies—each one carrying energy of transformation, care, and connection. It’s a tribute to the child within us all, and to the idea that even in loss, beauty can bloom. This is a gifting project, initiated at Fly Ranch and inspired by the Nine Principles—especially Radical Gifting. But I call it conditional gifting, because each person receiving a butterfly must give it a name. That act of naming is the only condition—the exchange of intention. Some butterflies have gone to new connections, some to familiar ones. The unnamed ones are still waiting to find their person. All the names below were chosen by the recipients. I don’t know where this project will go yet—it has no fixed structure. But I trust it. I trust the butterfly effect.
