old spongebob had more dull/natural colors, softer lines and wasnt afraid of shapes looking more wonky than not while new has bolder/smoother lines without any fuzz, brighter colors and trys to get things smooth. not only that but theres a lot more bubbles in the older seasons when they moved quickly! I think this is why SpongeBob was more visually pleasing back then than now
