@newageceo: This one is personal. I spent years believing that loyalty, effort, and showing up for people would guarantee they would do the same for me. It didn’t. And the hardest part wasn’t the betrayal. It was realizing I had been operating on an agreement nobody else signed. A good man who has no boundaries becomes a resource, not a person. People will take your kindness and call it weakness. They will accept your loyalty and never return it. They will benefit from your character and still walk away when it no longer serves them. That doesn’t mean you stop being good. It means you stop being accessible to everyone. Your goodness is who you are. Your boundaries are what protect it. Joseph was good to people who penalized him for it, and God still elevated him above every single one of them. Stay good. Just get wiser about who gets to experience it.
