@alphaclubclinic: Why is it that I can pin myself every day, donate a pint of blood with a needle the size of a harpoon… but a simple blood test absolutely ruins me? 🤦‍♂️ I’m not scared of needles. I can inject no problem. I can donate blood no problem. But when I go for blood work, they always seem to struggle to get the sample. They end up moving the needle around, digging about looking for the vein, and before I know it I’m sweating, feeling rough, and on a couple of occasions I’ve ended up flat on my back staring at the ceiling. 😅 Makes absolutely no sense to me. Anyone else got something weird like this where one medical procedure doesn’t bother you at all, but another one completely wipes you out? 👇 Let me know in the comments. It’s called psychogenic shock. As a paramedic I see it loads when I cannulate patients

I manage to draw my own bloods. Daunting first time but it seems to hurt less and is more comfortable than someone else doing it

Thank god its just not me. This fear I stopping me having it done, the thought of blood being taken from my body makes my head go dizzy. 😬

That’s me every time. I can pin IM with zero issues but go for a blood draw and if I’m not laying back I’ll be on the floor!
