@serveacebyvesa: 🚨Fundamentals vs Style In my previous posts, I talked about how important it is to know the difference between what’s fundamental to the serve motion and what’s just individual style. Here ⬇️, I’ll break down SOME parts only: 1. Fundamentals: - Proper starting position - Continental grip (+/-) - Toss - Back leg loading - Coiling hips - Staying sideways - Good racquet drop - Right timing of the racquet drop - High contact point - Open through contact - Long axis rotation 2. Style: - Index finger placement on the racquet - Toss height - Racquet take back - Platform / Pin-point stance - Waiter’s tray (aka player does forearm supination after the drop) - Landing (but it has to be inside the court) - Kick with the back leg …and more ‼️IMPORTANT: Of course, even these style details can suit some players better than others, but when analyzing a serve, you should always start from the fundamentals! #tennis #tennisserve #tennisservespecialist
