We’re infantilizing them because we know that their frontal lobe hasn’t fully developed yet and we all made mistakes during that part of our lives. But oh well, nobody could tell us any different either. If you won’t learn the easy way, you have to learn the hard way.

My mom and aunt got married and had their first baby in their very early twenties and they regret the man they chose to settle down with, what they got out of settling down they love, but if they could go back and settle down with someone else or wait some time before at least getting married they would, but unfortunately a lot of people right out of highschool or before end up in a Dorothy and Stanley from golden girls situation.

I mean I agree with the sentiment that sometimes teenagers / young adults are treated like they are just a baby especially after autism diagnosis 💔 I know that not what we are talking about but infantalizing teenagers isn't something that doesn't happen , I personally notice that people love to do that to people with ADHD and autism and acting like we can't do anything ourselves, my mother when I was 16 wouldn't let me go alone to the city that's 10 minut away with bus and only let me do it when I have my friend there to baby sit me 💔😭✌ I do not need baby sitting omg

I too thought I was an adulty-adult at 18. I had a baby at 19 and was a sahm mom. I thought it was all easy peasy living for about a year or two. I found myself trapped for years and then at 30, I was escaping domestic violence with three kids. This unfortunately is a canon event.
