@itselivazquez: I want to give a big shout-out to @behipgive and @vocesvalientesvf for inviting me to the annual Hispanics in Philanthropy Conference @hipconference. Ya'll, if you had told me I would be overwhelmed with emotion on the brink of tears on Day 1, I wouldn't have believed you. What I walked away with was a feeling that I was lucky enough to be a part of something bigger than me. To see in person outside of the heartbreaking headlines that there are Latinos with unwavering drive to save our community. From big investments in projects designed to heal, to storytellers amplifying those same projects. But we have so far to go: Latinos make up 20% of the population but receive only 1-2% of funding. And real talk, despite these numbers, I walked away feeling not only inspired but hopeful for the future. Before this I didn't realize how important I was, I never felt more inspired to do my part like everyone else I met. How are you going to do yours?
