@thedididelgado: I need all the parents to tap in, as I’m finally asking for solicited advice! What’s going on? Is this who I was as a child? So let me get this right. I never want do anything, but I also never want to go home when I am doing something? How do you help your children transition from the comfort measures of home to being outside? As an adult, I struggle with this, AND I know I just have to go, but I want to help my children understand why they have to go without it being an argument everyday. HALP! My kids are definitely wanting to do nothing and/ or only what they’d like to do this summer. Respectfully they will be reading, getting outside and spending family time as well as me making sure they have a good time. I recognize they don’t necessarily enjoy the structure or ‘mom events’ but like you said, they enjoy it and they’ll definitely appreciate it later. This was a year full of attitude and defiance for me (mine are 13 and 18) but that only let me know how important the non negotiables around family time and cultural enrichment are. You’re doing great bookie ❤️
