Am I understanding this post correctly? It sounds like you’re using the QBQ to learn about others and build rapport with them.
The QBQ is about the questions we naturally ask others when things go wrong and it builds personal accountability. We naturally ask questions that blame others and derail team efficiency such as: Why is this project late? Who dropped the ball? Why are my materials late? The QBQ teaches you to ask yourself How can I help the team meet the deadline? What can I do to get the ball rolling again? What can I do to help the other department deliver on time next time? It transforms the motives of the individual and then the unity of the team. I don’t think it sheds light on the needs or motives behind other people’s words or actions, and I don’t think it’s meant to be a tool for negotiation or persuasion.
