I have the same problem, I talk too much when someone mentions my obsession. I can talk and discuss it for hours. Lately I felt like shit bc my "friends" told me to shut up when I wanted to tell them what happened lately in the game they loved just a few months ago. I still love this game. They laughed at me for liking one particular character and I wanted to tell them why. I don't even want to meet with them again. Since they shut me down, I always ask all ppl I talk to if I'm annoying them, if I need to shut up

I was made to feel weird about liking anime too. The sad part was that this happened after I moved away from my home country where I had a group of friends who shared my interests and where I felt such a deep sense of belonging. It was so crushing to feel othered and shamed for what had been normal to me for years.
