I like to think that the moon saying “I love you” was to show that ai are able to grow past their purpose, helping Caine realize he can mean more than his adventures since they were all he thought he was

It's a metaphor for being capable of more than you were made for. Caine believed he HAD to be good at making adventures because it was what he was made for- the moon was never programmed to say "I love you" showing that it was capable of more. It was trying to get Caine to realize that he could be more too.

I know that scene of the Moon saying she still loves Caine is so important for his character, but I feel like it just needed a bit more of the Moon for it to be properly impactful. I don't need the moon to be a full-flegded character or anything, I just feel she could've benefitted if she had an extra line here or there. Her first line is that she loves Caine and its played off for laughs, and she's completely gone until the finale of the series where she gives Caine a pep talk. The start is funny. The end is good. It's just that there's just nothing at all in between. Like just 1 or 2 extra lines in-between probs would've solved my minor issue with this and made the ending with the Caine and the Moon be something really special.
