This area is my home. I SO appreciate your post and can tell you’ve had a journey my friend. I value our gorgeous Black Hills National Forest so very much. It brings me peace, inspiration and pride that I get to live here amongst the awesome state and national parks that surround us (so many!). I hope you saw/get to see Custer State Park. This video is beautiful. I live in Rapid City, I've been to and seen Mt Rushmore a million times. Every time I stop and actually take a moment to take it in I have those same emotions. EVERY TIME!

So cool! I know the feeling. 4th of July parades, I cried. Soldiers with flags, I cried. Jets flying in formation, I cried. If you have time, come north to Medora North Dakota. The new Teddy Roosevelt Library and Museum is open. It's beautiful in the Badlands, you might cry. 🥰

I love this post! I feel the same way. I’m tired of the posts where people show that they arrived, say “ok I’ve seen it” then turn and walk away. Some say they can’t believe how long they drove to get there and complain that it’s “so small”, and “not what was expected”. THANK YOU for your genuine appreciation of our history. ❤️🇺🇸🦅
