@rawithk: FIRST SIP at only 12 years old 🤯 Makenzie's grandmother struggled with alcoholism her whole life. Her dad thought if he exposed her to drinking early, she'd be less likely to act out in high school. He gave her a small glass at 12. That same night she snuck downstairs and finished the rest of the bottle alone, completely drunk by herself at 12 years old. 6 months sober today. I understand letting kids have some to take the curiosity away, but not at 12 maybe 15-16

At about 12 late in the year i had the chance to try a amiche of champagne (parents were celebrating something) and my parents had a similar thought of taking the mistery away and latino household. Also they never were the type to make it a mystery, they had a glass of wine with dinner or beer at a bbq and as I got older and closer to legal age in countries that allow it I was allowed to join in. And there were conversations about how much is too much and what to do if something feels wrong
