Did you really put Will Hunting in this edit? 😂 Will quite literally embodied the very antithesis of this argument. Will didn’t need to sacrifice; he did precisely what he wanted, the things that brought him joy, because he was smart enough to see through everyone’s bullshit and free from shackles, delusion of social pressure. Sure, the guy also had a shit ton of unresolved trauma, but resolving the trauma still didn’t make him a ambitious or whatever this post is suggesting one become; rather it allowed him to finally feel worthy of being loved. Alas, as someone else once pointed out, the entire film also works as an allegory for the internal struggle between Will’s heart and his brain. Needless to say, at the end, the heart wins.
