Arrived at 10cm and still asked for an epidural, they made me sign that It might not work. It worked so fast, slept for 45min, and pushed for 2 minutes and he was here.

My placenta was stuck for 2.5 hours before the doctor came in to remove. And they never offered me an epidural. I am so glad you got some relief!!

As an L&D RN I recommend the epidural not just for contraction pain. But it can be helpful to have the pain relief for tears, placenta retention, hemorrhage etc. which will require interventions that can be painful

I barely made it just in time for the epidural. I was at a 7 and I heard one of the nurses ask “will he do an epidural at a 7?” And I’m so thankful he did 😭
