@stillbecomingmama: loneliness has different textures and the 3am kind is its own specific thing that i had never encountered before becoming a mother. it is not the loneliness of being by yourself. it is not the loneliness of feeling misunderstood or left out or forgotten. it is something quieter and stranger than any of those. it is the loneliness of being completely needed and completely invisible at the same time. of doing something that is taking everything you have and having nobody witness it. not because nobody cares but because the world is asleep and the work you are doing only happens in these hours that everyone else gets to skip. i used to think about that a lot at 3:33am. how this version of me, this particular effort, this specific kind of showing up, was happening in a room nobody would ever see. and then the map and the dots and all those moms feeding and pumping and scrolling and doing their best at the same invisible hour. and i understood something i hadn’t before. we are all witnessing each other. not directly. not with words or eye contact or any of the things that usually make witnessing feel real. just by being awake at the same hour doing the same unseen work. every dot on that map is a mom saying i see you without knowing she is saying it. i see you too. every single one. #postpartum #newmom #postpartumsupport #momlife #momtok
