@ancylzone: --- *Solomon Kalushi Mahlangu (1956–1979)* Solomon Mahlangu was a South African freedom fighter born on 10 July 1956 in Mamelodi, Pretoria. After the 1976 Soweto Uprising, he left the country to join the ANC and trained as an uMkhonto weSizwe soldier. In 1977, he returned to South Africa on a mission. He and his comrades were confronted by police in Johannesburg, and a shootout left two civilians dead. Solomon was arrested and charged with murder under the apartheid “common purpose” law, even though he did not fire the fatal shots. He was sentenced to death and hanged on 6 April 1979 at Pretoria Central Prison. He was only 22 years old. His last words were: _“My blood will nourish the tree that will bear the fruits of freedom. Tell my people that I love them. They must continue the fight.”_ Today, Solomon Mahlangu is remembered as a national hero and symbol of youth resistance against apartheid.
I wish ANC could realy remember this guy. I can't stop crying when I remember his story but ANC forgot him and speks about him when we are approaching elections only. 🇿🇦
