@bonbon1976: For the past several days, our family has been living every parent’s and grandparent’s worst nightmare. This is my 8-month-old grandson. The photos show the injuries he suffered while in the care of a woman we trusted to keep him safe. Bite marks. Scratches. Bruises. A swollen forehead. Injuries that no baby should ever come home with. Today we met with detectives. We were informed that criminal charges may not be filed. As difficult as that news was to hear, our fight for answers is not over. We have also learned that the childcare operation where he was being kept was not registered with the State of Georgia as a daycare, despite caring for children and saying they were. What breaks my heart the most is that my grandson cannot tell us what happened. He cannot explain how he received these injuries. He cannot speak for himself. So we will. Every child deserves to be safe. Every parent deserves peace of mind when they leave their child in someone else’s care. Every grandparent deserves to know their grandbaby will be protected. When I look at these pictures, I don’t see a case number. I don’t see paperwork. I see a baby who deserved better.
