Exactly! The PLO went to Lebanon after they were kicked out of Jordan following the events of black September in 1970. Israel invaded south Lebanon after the PLO was launching rockets into north Israel non stop and the Lebanese Army could not stop them. They were also massacring Christians in Lebanon which led the Lebanese civil war which lasted 15 years. Israel cooperated with the Lebanon Southern Army to fight the PLO which they succeeded, and remained in Southern Lebanon to guard the buffer zone, along side the Southern Army if Lebanon. Hezbola was created in the 80s, funded by Iran, as a “resistance” to Israel. In 2000 Israel withdrew from Lebanon after signing and agreement with the UN that Hezbola willl remain north of the Litani river under the supervision of UNifil. That of course did not happen as Hezbo violated the agreement and continued launching missiles into Israel. They even used the UN bases to launch their attacks. In 2006 Hezbola invaded Israel and kidnapped two soldiers, using a UN vehicle, which reignited the war. Fast forward to today, For the past 3 years, 300,000 people have been displaced from north Israel as the bobmbarent from Hezbola on civilians won’t stop. Israel finally said enough. Hopefully Lebanon will be able to disarm Hezbola, have solid peace with Israel, and thrive again like the beautiful country it used to be
