Many describe themselves as strong and independent, but sometimes that comes across as combative rather than cooperative. A lot have built successful careers or accumulated assets over the years, and understandably have standards. The problem is that dating can start to feel more like a financial and lifestyle qualification process than a genuine connection. The first questions are often: Have you been married? Do you have kids? What do you do? Those questions may be practical, but they can make a date feel more like an interview than a conversation. I’ve also noticed many women want a committed relationship relatively quickly, while at the same time holding very high standards for a potential partner. They want a man who is financially stable, emotionally mature, physically fit, and brings value to their life. The challenge is that many men in this age group are looking for companionship, peace, attraction, and genuine connection—not another performance review.
