I think the reason the captain killed Clark was because Clark acknowledged there was something wrong with him and that was his fault, Clark was okay with that but the captain wasn’t, because a part of why they got along was that till then Clark was able to mostly feign ignorance

My personal theory of why Captain Clark decided to bite Clark is because of the fact that after Mary yelled at him about how he was just horrible and everything that he’s done wrong, that which was the last thing that he had. Which was his small façade of always believing that he’s right and that the world is doing him wrong. it broke him, and then he didn’t have anything left because even with that facade, he always secretly knew he was doing something wrong that he was in the wrong. I mean, he went to therapy so that obviously says something! he’s looking for help! Yet then he hated himself. He hated himself and his entire soul being because he was slowly realizing and processing the fact that he’s ruined everything for himself, And I mean Captain Clark is Clark when hes at his absolute worst like when he feels humiliated in the costume, when he drinks, etc. And when you’re drunk, you usually drink you usually do it to eat your feelings away, so I believe the still life learned from his personal feelings! it seems like that happened?
