Yup! This is exactly it. A lot of mainstream genres/artists don’t produce danceable music anymore bc they’re more focused on creating “vibey” music. Afrobeats and Amapiano is filling that void

I’ve noticed at non Afro/ Caribbean parties they ALWAYS play it (dancehall mainly but some afrobeats) during the plateau of the party. They do it because they know it brings the energy back. They understand it’s danceable music and that at least the Africans and Caribbeans will get to dancing which is highly contagious energy even if others don’t know the dances.
