موقف الإمام الحسين بن علي والعباس بن علي ( عليهم السلام ) كان من أشدّ مشاهد يوم عاشوراء ألماً. فعندما خرج العباس (ع) لجلب الماء للأطفال وقاتل ببسالة، استُشهد قرب نهر الفرات. وعندما بلغ الخبر الإمام الحسين (ع)، قال: «الآن انكسر ظهري، وقلّت حيلتي»، تعبيراً عن عظيم .المصاب بفقد أخيه وحامل لوائه The separation of Husayn ibn Ali and Al-Abbas in Ali was one of the most heartbreaking moments of Ashura. When Al-Abbas went to fetch water for the children and was martyred near the Euphrates River, Imam Husayn (A.S.) was deeply grieved and is reported to have said:
