Pretty sure this is ai, digital forensics is much more intricate and wouldn’t allow such things to happen. Before anything in a forensic analysis you actually copy every bit of information before using a write blocker which allows you to exclusively view data not alter, preventing incidents like this. In the event this is real they were well out of procedure, considering officers themselves don’t handle data like this, in a court setting it could become dismissible.
