@crmnallyobsessed: Families of the women murdered by Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann shared heartfelt memories of their loved ones on June 17 as they pleaded for a New York judge to give Heuermann the harshest possible sentence. The judge obliged. Heuermann, 62, was sentenced to life without parole for the murders of Maureen Brainard-Barnes (2007), Melissa Barthelemy (2009), Megan Waterman (2010), Amber Lynn Costello (2010), Jessica Taylor (2003), Valerie Mack (2000) and Sandra Costilla (1993). Heuermann pleaded guilty to the seven women's murders in April 2026, and also confessed to an eighth murder (Karen Vergata, 1996) for which he wasn't charged.
