If you dig deeper, you'll discover this site used to be a natural park that served the surrounding community. It featured mature trees and real green space in the heart of an urban neighbourhood. Those trees were removed and the park was redeveloped for the Cowboys Music Festival. For the other 355 days of the year, it's essentially a concrete pad with AstroTurf where a community park once stood.

The Cowboys Tent isn't even near the stampede grounds anymore, it's way to the west. To suggest that people shouldn't live near the stampede if they don't like it, THEY DON'T! I don't blame people for being pissed off that this has moved into their community when it wasn't there before.

I lived downtown last year and it was awful, the worst noise pollution, my windows, walls, and furniture were vibrating every single day from the constant bass. I literally moved out of Beltline this winter so I wouldn’t have to endure it again.

As someone who’s lived on 17th ave for 8 years… it’s a piece of living here (in dt) it’s 2 weeks of the year I get it not great but it’s been apart of the city since forever and it’s not going to get smaller
