@startoverstrategy: #stitch with @rylee !! Learning homemaking skills before marriage is great! And honestly? I get it. I did the same thing. I learned how to cook. I learned how to bake. I gardened. I homeschooled. I cared for children. I could milk a cow. I spun wool. I knitted socks. None of those things are bad skills. Many of them brought me joy. But after a divorce, I’ve realized something important: Those skills have very little to do with whether a marriage is healthy, safe, or successful. The things I wish young women were taught are: How to recognize love bombing. How to recognize coercive control. How to set and maintain boundaries. How to trust their intuition. How to recognize manipulation. How to maintain their own identity inside a relationship. How to build financial security. How to know the difference between accountability and control. How to leave when a relationship becomes unhealthy. How to trust herself. Domestic skills can make a home more comfortable. But relationship skills (or the lack thereof) can change the course of your entire life. That’s one reason I create content for women rebuilding after divorce, especially those coming from traditional marriages, purity culture, and high-control religious environments. Because so many were taught how to be useful. But not how to protect yourselves. And not how to build healthy relationships. #Tradwife #HealthyRelationships #PurityCulture #RecoveringSelfTrust
