Loved this! My son was similar to you, only ever wanted to be a pilot from age of 7. Put in all the hard work with the determination you have and is now a BA Captain flying the 777. You will be there before you know it!!

As a parent of a 17 year old who’s dream has always been to become a pilot, I really with there was funding available. We recently attended the pilot convention in Manchester & it was very informative. But, the likelihood of ever getting on the BA speedbird programme is so slim and the only back up was to find £120,000 we came away feeling a bit disheartened and overwhelmed. He has one year left at college studying physics and maths and then he’s not sure where to go next. Thank you for sharing your experience, looks amazing 🙂

Well done to you, always follow your dreams. My heart problems stopped me getting in the RAF at 18. At 55 I now know my real dream, that came true, was my wife, 3 daughters and 2 grandchildren. Enjoy your life 🥰

Great uplifting story of resilience and determination. How much did it cost? As a Careers Advisor that it’s normally around £75,000 plus to train. There is a university degree in Beds with flight training

I graduated from high school in 2020 with becoming a pilot as my only goal. Then COVID came, and I decided to earn a bachelor's degree as a Plan B. I finished ground school a month ago, and in a month or so, I'll finally be starting my flight training. Wish me luck. To everyone who wants to become a pilot: never give up. When one opportunity closes in front of you, ten more will appear. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but they will come. Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way.
