🚨This is the full story of P-Square - then and now.🚨 WHO IS P-SQUARE Peter and Paul Okoye - identical twins born November 18, 1981 in Jos, Nigeria. Their older brother Jude Okoye was their manager and co-founder of their label Square Records / Northside Entertainment. They started dancing and singing in secondary school, broke out in 2003 with "Senorita" and became Africa's biggest duo with hits like "Do Me", "No One Like You", "Personally", "Alingo", "Chop My Money". They won MTV Africa Artist of the Decade in 2015. 💖THE FIRST BREAKUP - 2013 to 2017💗 Problem started with money and management. Jude revealed later he was taking 40% of all P-Square proceeds, while Peter and Paul shared 30% each. Peter felt Jude was controlling and disrespecting his wife Lola and his ideas. Paul often sided with Jude. They first quarrelled in 2014, split briefly in 2016, came back, then final split in September 2017. There was a leaked video of them shouting and almost fighting at their lawyer Festus Keyamo's office. Peter sent a termination letter ending the group. Then solo: - Peter became Mr P - Paul became Rudeboy Both tried solo careers, but fans kept begging for reunion. 💖REUNION - 2021💖 After 4 years apart, they reconciled in November 2021. Big names had tried to settle them before - Emeka Offor, Ifeanyi Uba, Peter Obi, governors, even their village king. What finally worked was family pressure. They hugged in a viral video, announced a 100-city world tour and released new songs like "Jaiye" and "Find Somebody". Peter said reunion helped them manage money better and they were more mature. 💖SECOND BREAKUP - 2024 / 2025 - This is where we are now💗 This one is worse than the first. Early 2024, Paul did an interview on City FM saying "P-Square is no more." What happened according to both sides: 1. 💗Money case💗: Peter petitioned EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) against Jude and Paul. He accused Jude of running a secret company called Northside Music, opening 47 undisclosed bank accounts, diverting P-Square royalties, buying an 850 million naira property, and doing a $1 million conversion. He said Northside Music was collecting royalties secretly and Jude was splitting it with Paul. 2. 💗Paul's side💗: Paul said Peter is the one who ended the group by text and then reported him to EFCC to arrest him and tarnish his name. He denied stealing. 3. 💗Jude's case💗: EFCC later charged Jude with alleged financial misconduct. Jude then came out to say the sharing formula was 40% for him, 30% each for the twins, and he hadn't managed them since 2016. 4. 💗Song fight - "Winning"💗: Paul released a new song "Winning". Peter leaked a voice note showing he and a songwriter Calypso60 co-wrote and directed Paul's vocals on that same song in 2022 during reunion. Paul said Peter stole the song that was meant for his own album. 📍Now status: - Peter is solo as Mr P again, saying split is final and he will release EFCC report and receipts when he gets them. - Paul is solo as Rudeboy, performing alone. - Jude is facing EFCC investigation. - No more P-Square as a group. Both twins are doing separate shows. So the crying you saw is part of this second split - Peter was emotional talking about betrayal by his own blood, how Paul and Jude teamed up against him, and how blood should be thicker than water.
