The draft of a ship is the vertical distance measured from the waterline to the keel, which is the lowest structural part of the vessel. Draft marks are usually located at the Forward (bow), Midship, and Aft (stern) sections of the ship. These marks are displayed in metres or feet and are used to determine the ship’s draft accurately.
