@sotfogsotfog: Imagine having that much of a heavy industry push (allegedly) for your breakout single after five flop albums… wonder what convinces higher ups in the music industry that they should have that much “faith” in someone… anyways, you don’t have to believe me! You’re more than welcome to do your own research into Sabrina Carpenter’s… particular… career. I’m sure if we all work together, we might learn a thing or two ;) #sabrinacarpenter #espresso #industryplant @Sabrina Carpenter
Flop album but back then she was ruling the gacha community 🙏😭

I don’t like Sabrina’s behavior in some ways but here you are just being annoying and reaching to much. Sabrina has never been a flop and I think espresso did well because is just a generic summer pop song (which I do love)

Emails I can’t send is NOT a flop album, are you kidding? The first time I was hearing about her outside of Disney was with this album, especially while/after opening for the eras tour. Nonsense got fairly popular and feather was everywhere on social media. Her previous album’s singles were literally the build up and what cemmented the success of espresso. I’m not even a Sabrina fan but let’s not spread conspiracy theories

this doesn’t make sense, nobody was expecting for espresso to smash the way it did but there wasn’t anything unusual about it, “if you’re not making money the music industry doesn’t care” but she was😭 emails i can’t send was a flop at first but then she released nonsense as a single and that’s where the slow rise began, and then feather took her even higher (peaked at #21 on the hot 100) both have over a billion streams to date, & she also opened for the biggest tour of all time (the eras tour) her hype was building fast, island saw her potential and upped the money into her, her next single after all that was going to smash regardless

Emails i cant send was not a flop 😭 if anything it made her bigger therefore it literally goes against that narrative. It just wasn’t huge.

she rebranded, was opening for taylor swift and performed at coachella around the time espresso was released it was a lot of things that drew attention to her to be real like maybe mention those things

Espresso was heavily pushed by Spotify - despite never listening to her, Spotify would auto play it so much I had to block it

it’s called rebranding, finding her style, and having a label/team that actually cares to promote her and her music it’s not a crazy concept

Sabrina‘s albums weren’t flops and she’s always had a solid fanbase. Her sudden success has had different factors, such as opening for Tay. Rebrands in young female pop artists is something we’ve seen in other artists too… Tate, Zara, Dua, Gracie … While concern on such topics is absolutely right to have, this unfortunately feels more like shaming and bullying

You all are just haters. She wasn't a plant. she had a gradual rise to fame... Emails I Can't Send was not a flop, but as Halsey is struggling with, it wasn't pulling the same "Taylor Swift numbers". Sabrina has been and always was talented & that's undeniably true. I think Short n Sweet was very on trend with the time. She finally got ir right; that's all.

That’s not how autoplay works. If you listen to popular artists and songs, then of course the algorithm is gonna recommend you other popular artists and songs from that time. I literally never got Espresso on auto play ever and I listen to mostly pop music.

as a fan i can get behind your point of her infantilizing herself to some degree but this video is missing a lot of info. she rebranded herself around emails i can’t send. that album also wasn’t a total “flop” either and she was definitely exploring more of her sound, which gave us “feather” and “nonsense.” she was a huge disney star before she became mainstream as well. also, many of taylor swift’s openers (sabrina carpenter, benson boone, gracie abrhams) saw a jump in streams and monthly listeners while eras tour was going on. i think sabrina took advantage of that opportunity with so many eyes on her and was how espresso came to be. also, amy allen worked on espresso who is one of the most notorious writers in the music industry. sure, maybe there was some foul play with spotify but i don’t think you should completely discredit her. she did a lot of festivals with the release of espresso, and a lot of people still gave her flack and said it would be her one hit wonder.
