My grandma did this after a brain aneurysm coiling. Calling over and over stressing me out .I told the nurse to not allow calls to my room and tell people that I wasn’t there. No longer talked to them after that. Anyone who does that to you at a point of weakness doesn’t deserve you in their lives.

As a person who is no contact with their mom and low contact with my dad, no you don’t ever have to talk to your parent that you’re NC. We choose to go NC for many reasons and it is no one’s business
