I do like this parallel idea! The only thing though is that I think the point is that what the entity represents can't just go away and that's shown with it coming back even after Naim burns it. They still have to process it and work through their trauma, it's bittersweet but a little more grounded which I like. That's just my opinion though no disrespect to yours :))

I thought the same thing!! I was waiting for a scene where they would use the lighter (because the entity doesn't like fire) to see if each other were the real person. I think that would've been a good scene, not only for the parallel, but because it would've showed how deeply they loved each other and how they learned to trust each other in order to survive. 🙂↕️
