Literally 80% of people I invited to the baby shower said once the baby is born they will come see her but can’t make the shower…🙃 they just wanna see the baby not me lol

I know it’s not for everyone, however I do recommend having family visit in the hospital. 1) you are not expected to host in the slightest 2) guests can easily sanitize and/or wash their hands right there in the room 3) no one is gonna stay more than an hour because nurses, lactation consultants, doctors, etc are always coming back to do something for you or the baby 4) and biggest perk of all, if you give them the opportunity to visit you in the hospital, then they leave you alone once you’re home and you can enjoy bonding with your newborn without interruption. Obviously, you know the cons of having people visit right after birth. Just wanted to share some pros too. And also, all this only works if you have a chill birth experience. Ain’t nobody having a traumatic birth and then having a bunch of visitors.

My mil told my husband yesterday shed really like to be there for the birth, I looked at him and told him I’d rather have an unmedicated C-section than have her anywhere my birth lol

As someone who didn’t have visitors at the hospital, I 10/10 recommend. I honestly wished I had waited longer to have visitors when I got home because it was so overwhelming.

I put on my birth plan that no one is allowed to be there besides my mom & my husband. I also said visitors are approved by my direct approval not my husbands or my mothers.🤣

This is my second baby and I tell everyone different due dates😂😂 depends who it is. I felt so overwhelmed last time. Even with texts. Is the baby here yet?? No, so you still have time to make pre-meals and get the baby’s home clean, come on 😂😂

This is why I love my partner. He will fight for days on end continuously to refuse anybody near me or baby during birth/PP if I don't want them there😭🤣

We politely let people know we wouldn’t be having visitors at the hospital or at home for a few weeks to have time to recover and bond with baby. People told me they were going to show up anyway THEN would respect our wishes after they get to meet the baby. 🤔🤔🤔 that’s not how that works. 🤦🏼♀️

I’m legit just not going to answer the door. I’ve already told people we want at least 4 weeks with baby before we have visitors at the house. Then here comes my random family member out of nowhere, “I hear you and that’s totally fine but I’ll be there in august”. I’m due August 8th.

Unpopular opinion but having people want to come see and love my baby makes me happy…..a baby is an exciting thing and I’m not going to shame my family and friends for being excited and wanting to be involved. I’d rather celebrate a life I just created with all the people I love and who love us.

I’m not having anyone visit in the hospital the day I give birth! I’m open to having visitors the next day. But it very much depends on how my birth goes and how I’m recovering. And even then, it’ll probably just be my parents and my husbands parents.
