Each new piece of information would make my stomach drop, send me spiralling, or leave me deeply hurt. I couldn’t believe the things I was hearing or witnessing. At times, I felt like I was living in a soap opera. That this kind of betrayal couldn’t possibly happen to other people. I was wrong.
