@summithound: 🐶 A lot of people see a firm correction and immediately think it's about punishment. What they don't see is the reason behind it. When you're working with powerful breeds, commands like "place" aren't just obedience tricks—they're safety tools. A 90-pound dog charging the front door, jumping on guests, or ignoring commands can create problems fast. The goal of a correction isn't to hurt the dog. It's to clearly communicate that the command is not optional. For many large breeds, being soft, inconsistent, and repeating commands over and over often creates more confusion than a fair, well-timed correction. The place command teaches a dog to remain calm, hold a position, and look to the handler for direction—even when excitement walks through the front door. The strongest dogs need the clearest boundaries. Not because they're bad dogs. Because their size means their mistakes carry bigger consequences. Would you rather have a dog that listens when things are calm, or one that listens when it matters most? 👇 #DogTraining #PlaceCommand #AmericanBully #PitBull #CaneCorso #Rottweiler #BullyBreed #WorkingDogs #DogOwner #LargeBreedDogs #DogBehavior #DogTips #DogLife #StrongDogs #DogEducation

Yeah, it looks like it’s bad but if it was a different breed, it would definitely be bad but Pitbulls and aggressive pets they are stubborn and sometimes they think you are playing even when you’re not

keegan (tiny) :
if you have to make your dog yelp to control it you don't need the dog I've corrected a great Dane pitbull mix with a correction that didn't make her yelp and she listened
