I took 3 different women to the same restaurant within a week. My sister, my gf, and my bff. the server didn't know my relationship to any of them and by the 3rd time the look on his face was priceless! lol. (and yes I tipped very well each time 😊)

Remember that tipping is not mandatory in some countries, and in fact, in Japan, tipping is considered offensive. A tip in Japan suggests to the waiter that he's so bad he can't even earn his own living.

As someone who doesn't live in the US the "if you can't afford to tip then don't go out" it's such a crazy statement like, you are not allowed to have a nice thing just because you don't have more than enough to pay someone a quarter of a living wage? Where I live servers get a decent enough wage, and tipping is not culture here so any amount is well received, hopefully these are things that can change one day
