قصر كوير التاريخي يعد القصر معلماً من معالم مكة المكرمة وتحفة جمالية تبرز الفن المعماري الذي كان سائداً في العاصمة المقدسة قبل أكثر من 100 سنة، يقع القصر بمنطقة البيبان (شمال الحرم المكي)، وهي منطقة عرفت تاريخياً بكونها منتجعاً لأهالي مدينة مكة في العصور الوسطى وذلك لاعتدال مناخها وتواجد المزارع بها وعدد من القصور الأخرى. ‎يعود القصر للسيد أحمد عمر باشنم العمودي (المشهور بكوير)، وهو من أشهر صناع وتجار النورة في مكة، إضافة الى كونه من تجار البادية المعروفين الذين سكنوا حارة جرول وتاجروا في السمن والعسل، وقد بناه ولم يسكن فيه، وإنما سكنه الأمير محمد بن عبد العزيز رحمه الله إبان وجوده في مكة، ويروى عن بعض ممن عاصروا تلك الفترة أن الملك عبد العزيز رحمة الله قد زار ابنه في هذا القصر، حيث كان واحداً من عدة قصور محدودة في المنطقة، وقد بني القصر الذي يرتفع على ربوة طبيعية من خمسة أدوار ويتخذ الشكل الأقرب الى مربع في مسقطه، ويشبه في تصميمه تصميم القصور الحجازية في تلك الفترة والمنتشرة في جدة والطائف ومكة المكرمة. ‎ويتميز القصر بنوافذه الخشبية المحفورة بالنقوش الهندسية والنباتية الجميلة، وكذلك عدد من الشرف المطلة على الخارج وقد تم تزين السطح بالشرفات الحجرية المزخرفة والمنحوتة بتشكيلات فنية بديعة، استخدم في بناء القصر مواد بناء من الحجر والنورة والطين والأخشاب والجص، وطليت جدرانه من ألوان زاهية متعددة، ولا يزال يحتفظ بحالته الانشائية الجيدة رغم وجود بعض الأضرار التي أصابته نتيجة إهمال بعض من سكنوه وتأثير عوامل الطقس عليه. The palace is a landmark and a beautiful masterpiece that highlights the architectural style used in the holy capital city of Makkah more than 100 years ago. The palace is located in the Biban area (north of the Grand Mosque), an area historically known as a resort for the residents of the city in the Middle Ages due to its moderate climate, abundant farms, and several number of other palaces. The palace belongs to Mr. Ahmed Omar Bashnem Al-Amoudi (known as Kawir), who is one of the most famous traders of lime in Makkah, in addition to being one of the well-known Bedouin traders who lived in Jarwal neighborhood and traded in ghee and honey. He built the palace but did not live in it, but rather Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz, may God have mercy on him, lived in it during his presence in Makkah. Some of those who lived during that period recount that King Abdulaziz, may God have mercy on him, visited his son in this palace, which was one of a limited number of palaces in the region. The palace, which rises to a natural hill, was built with five floors and takes the square shape in its floorplan. Its design resembles the Hijazi palaces of that period, which were spread out in Jeddah, Taif and Makkah. The palace is distinguished by its wooden windows engraved with beautiful geometric and plant motifs, in addition to a number of balconies overlooking the outside. The roof was decorated with stone balconies decorated and carved with beautiful formations. Building materials were used in the construction of the palace stone, lime, clay, wood, and plaster. Its walls were painted in a variety of bright colors.
