I once got assaulted in broad daylight by a woman who was having a psychotic episode. She chased me down the street and was trying to beat me. A black hair salon owner pulled me into her store and kept me safe even after she was due to close shop — I called the police after, waited two hours, and the officer told me he wasn’t going to put in a report because it was a Friday night and he wanted to get off his shift because he “had things to do.” I have never once had a cop genuinely ever help me or mine in my life.

I never understood why the police claim their job is so dangerous. You can literally see them on TikTok all the time sleeping in their cars. They do nothing but harass low level petty crimes from none aggressive job having citizens. But actual criminals they don’t sht about

A homeless guy tried to drag me into an alleyway on my block a few years ago and the operator laughed at me and never sent cops. I had to see that guy everyday for 3 years. She said the cops had real crimes to go after.

A crazy roommate of my friend’s completely destroyed his apartment to the point the toilet was broken and flooding. The dude brandished his g*n around and said he was gonna hurt others and then himself. The police arrived the next morning and threatened to arrest us if we had touched or his firearm to protect ourselves.

During the wildfires, when we had to evacuate, we caught people on camera stealing with their faces in 4HD and their names being said, and the cops told us that they didn’t have enough information to find the robbers…

I was beaten in the street, and covered in blood, the police found me in the gutter and walked over me as I asked them for help. They told me to drag myself to the police station and make a statement. Then they called me a slur. Years later four of us were barricaded in an apartment across the street from the station. We had several men actively trying to break in. You could call across the street to the station from the window. Took them an hour and a half to cross the street. Waited for the criminals to leave. We kept them from getting in but yeah. ACAB
