Delta was super strict when I flew.. they wanted me to make my dog stand up and turn around in her carrier at the check in desk (I had already given her trazodone) so I was like… she’s sleepy lol

Yeah, that’s not going to work. She has to be able to stand up & turn around when it’s zipped up. Also, how much does she weigh? There’s generally a weight limit for the dog + carrier. I’d be reluctant to put her under the seat.

My 20lb cockapoo didn’t really fit in her carrier. Once we sat, I opened up the top portion so she can have her head out and then eventually just took her out the carrier the entire flight!

You should’ve just brought her seat next to you. This is too small, if you didn’t get her on flight. I wouldn’t take the risk coming back

You are definitely taking a big chance that a gate agent can deny you day of on your way out or back. It states pet must be able to stand up and turn around while closed. I have seen tons of videos of dogs way smaller than this getting denied.

Try a Katziela carrier. They are bigger but still airline approved.

Look into JSX airlines to see if it works for you! They fly to limited places but they allow dogs to sit next to you for an additional fare.

We fly Alaska often with my leggy mini golden doodle who looks the same going in, but we use a carrier where the sides open outward on the plane where he can stretch out. You just have to plan your seats well to make sure there’s room to open (usually premium). Alaska is wonderful with dogs!

She’s WAY to big. No way they would let that slide, plus that would be incredibly uncomfortable for her. We loved traveling with our dog and he flew multiple times a year but he was actually able to turn around and get comfortable. While I get the desire to bring her on the trip it’s not fair to squish her in that.
