Saint was found running at large nearly 300 days ago. It is known that he previously lived with children and other dogs. But no one ever came looking for him. Unfortunately, nearly a year in the shelter has taken a toll on him. He now takes longer to trust new people, but once he does, you'll discover a gentle dog who simply wants to be loved. Saint will need some continued work with his leash manners, but he's treat-motivated and eager to learn. He lives for every moment outside his kennel. He doesn't care if it's raining or cold—any time outdoors is a gift to him. Nearly a year behind kennel walls has changed his body, too. Since arriving at the shelter, Saint has gained a significant amount of weight because he hasn't had the freedom to run, play, and simply be a dog. Despite everything, Saint still loves treats, loves giving hugs, and continues to hope that someone will finally choose him. The reality is that it isn't humane to keep a dog in a shelter while he's deteriorating mentally and physically. Nearly 300 days have passed, and no one has come for him. Saint doesn't need hundreds of people to choose him. He only needs one. I hope that one person is watching this today.
