FLAT UPPER CHEST? TRY THIS EXAGGERATED INCLINE FLY VARIATION. If your upper chest refuses to grow, the problem usually isn't the exercise... It's the angle and the stretch. One of my favorite ways to isolate the upper chest is by using a high incline bench or, even better, an upright preacher curl bench. That position lets you achieve an incredible stretch while keeping constant tension on the upper chest throughout the movement. Here's how to do it: 👉 Set an adjustable bench to a very high incline, or lean your chest against a preacher curl bench. 👉 Let your chest stay firmly supported throughout the exercise. 👉 Hold a pair of light dumbbells with a slight bend in your elbows. 👉 Open your arms wide and allow your chest to stretch as far as your mobility comfortably allows. 👉 Think about spreading your chest—not simply lowering the weights. 👉 As you raise the dumbbells, imagine hugging a large barrel while bringing your elbows together. 👉 Finish with a hard squeeze through the upper inner chest, then lower the weights slowly back into a full stretch. Because your torso is supported, it's much harder to cheat with momentum. That means the upper chest does all the work, from the deepest stretch to the strongest contraction. Benefits of this variation: 🔥 Maximizes upper chest stretch. 🔥 Builds thickness along the clavicular (upper) chest. 🔥 Improves upper inner chest detail. 🔥 Reduces front delt dominance. 🔥 Creates a stronger mind-muscle connection for better chest development. Remember... Don't chase heavier dumbbells. Chase a bigger stretch and a harder squeeze. That's what builds a full, thick upper chest. 👇 Comment the keyword below and I'll send you the right link: APP → Access the GOB Bodybuilding App with complete workouts, 800+ exercise demonstrations, and structured training programs.
