@thepremierviewtip: 🚨 This is exactly what happens when head-high tackles are allowed to become part of the game. For the last two or three years, concerns have been raised about dangerous contact to the head, and in fairness, Michael Duignan has been one of those consistently calling it out. First and foremost, hopefully David Reidy makes a full recovery. The immediate concern shown by Shane O’Donnell spoke volumes. Given his own experience with head injuries, he knew straight away the seriousness of the situation. Credit must also go to both the Clare and Dublin medical teams, whose response was immediate and professional. The welfare of players has to come first. Incidents like this are a stark reminder that head-high challenges cannot continue to be tolerated. The game needs a stronger and more consistent approach to protecting players, and perhaps this will finally be the moment that forces a real clampdown. Player safety cannot be optional. #GAA #Hurling #ClareGAA #DublinGAA #PlayerWelfare
