I don't know how to explain it. I'm not a native speaker but I learned the alphabet and can pronounce and read sentances even know how to spell the words when I hear it being spoken but I have no idea what it's saying except for a little bit (I was doing Duolingo for like 6 months but forgot a lot of it. Basically, look at the words or listen but don't think about what it's saying at all and it's pretty much me😂

As an American who learned Russian, it’s kinda like before you learn it, it sounds like the 2010s songs on the radio you hear as a kid and you just sing along to it bc it sounds fun, then when you get older you actually understand the lyrics and the meaning behind the long. Like damn I’ve been singing this the whole time but I had no clue what it was saying it’s been under my nose this whole time.

In my opinion, Russian is really romantic and poetic. I love the languages, songs and books. I'm learning Russian and I'm so lucky because my bf is bilingual and he knows Russian so he's helping me. My favorite artists are Instasamka (her songs are so powerful, as a Pole I understand half of the words) and Ic3peak. I also like Tatu, Face, Morgenshtern, Slava Marlow and элджей
