@annekasvenskaofficial: Stonehenge, on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, was built in stages between around 3000 BC and 1600 BC. The earliest monument was a circular earthwork enclosure that served as an important burial ground, with the cremated remains of dozens of people discovered there, making it one of Britain’s largest known Neolithic cemeteries. Around 2500 BC, huge sarsen stones from the Marlborough Downs and smaller bluestones from Wales were transported over great distances and erected using remarkable prehistoric engineering. The monument was carefully aligned with the Sun, with the midsummer sunrise and midwinter sunset shining through the stones. Great video! Strangely, I just wonder if they trim the grass at the base of the stones by hand, and how they trim the grass itself close to the stones. I’d imagine manual push mowers close to the stones and hand clippers for around the bases. I’d imagine they’d not want to risk any stones being struck or nicked.
