@offenceregister: Aaron Gaughan Barry Rapist Offender On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, Barry Rapist Aaron Gaughan made his first appearance at Cardiff Magistrates Court and pleaded not guilty to all charges. The woman and Aaron Gaughan had a four-year relationship during which he frequently assaulted her and kept her confined to her flat, limiting her freedom of movement. Her face was also injured by Aaron Gaughan. Aaron Gaughan continued the attack by breaking into her accounts, stealing her apartment's keys, and damaging her car and windows. After the relationship ended, he continued to harass and hound her. Aaron Gaughan was found guilty of three counts of rape, controlling/coercive behaviour, two assaults, and stalking that caused significant anxiety and distress following an eight-day trial at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court in May 2025. He acknowledged that he had driven without insurance and while disqualified. Aaron Gaughan was given a 20-year sentence on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Cardiff Crown Court. This sentence included a five-year increased term for dangerousness and fifteen years in custody.
