WARNING! ⚠️ ‼️ LISTEN 👂 Today I experienced one of the most frightening moments of my life as a parent. I hired a babysitter for my one-year-old daughter. This was her first day caring for her. She told me so many great things about herself during an interview. Her background came out clear. I thought she was a good match. While I was at work, I was able to check my Ring camera and saw my daughter awake and moving around the house while the caregiver appeared to fall asleep. From the previous videos, I could see how the Babysitter was still awake and she was just giving stuff to my baby so she can distract herself knowing 100% that my baby was wondering around. I repeatedly tried to get her attention through the Ring camera, including speaking through it and activating the siren, because I could see my daughter continuing to move around unsupervised. Despite multiple attempts, I could not wake her through the camera. During this time, my daughter made her way upstairs and fell down the stairs. I had to immediately leave work and rush home during this emergency. Paramedics evaluated my daughter after the fall, and thankfully she was reported to be okay but still be aware. She is now home with me, and I am monitoring her closely. After the incident, I was informed that the caregiver had not slept the night before, which had not been communicated to me beforehand. She did not mention anything to be after the incident. I am extremely mad, I am, I am paying someone to take care of my baby and I just don't know what to think, I couldn't even see her face, when I called after, they told me I could make a report. She messaged me about paying her when I want, but I don't even know. Would you pay her? I don't know what to do. I'm sharing this as a reminder to all parents: please be extremely careful when choosing childcare.
