The journey from Makkah to Madinah is about 450 km (280 miles). Today by car it takes around 4–5 hours, but during the time of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ there were no cars, paved roads, or modern transport. When the Prophet ﷺ made the Hijrah (migration) from Makkah to Madinah in 622 CE, he did not simply walk the whole distance in a straight line. He travelled with Abu Bakr as-Siddiq using camels, and they took a hidden route through the desert to avoid Quraysh. The journey took about 12 days. People of that time were also much more accustomed to harsh conditions. They walked long distances regularly, had knowledge of desert routes, knew where wells were, and travelled in groups or caravans. The Prophet ﷺ also experienced many hardships before and after the Hijrah — including being rejected by his people, the journey to Ta’if, hunger, and living with patience and trust in Allah. The Hijrah is remembered not because it was an easy journey, but because it showed sabr (patience), sacrifice, and complete reliance upon Allah.

This story just made me feel sad, we drive from Makkah to Madinah using a car, bus, feel cold inside. And our Rasool have to walk for a several days in that heat :(

I remember seeing a man walking from madina to makkah during our journey to makkah and our driver stopped by to greet him and we proceeded over we then asked him why don’t you ask him to join us but our driver said that this man has been walking for the past 3-4days now and each time I pass him I stop to greet him because he insisted that he wants to walk just so he can feel how our beloved did 💯I pray Allah accept it from him 🥰I remember this man every time I remember my ummurah trip
