Daryl was always smarter than everyone gave him credit for. Sure he hunted and tracked stuff which makes him more trained in details than Rick, but he has better instincts, pattern recognition, hes the quiet kind of smart. Doesnt need to talk to know when something isnt a good idea.

should've kept that scene in. not only because it's a good scene and it shows the dynamic of the group, but Daryl saying that could've been the PERFECT foreshadowing to literally everything they face in the series. the walkers were mere obstacles, it was always people to be afraid of

daryl may not have been "book" smart, but they underestimated how intelligent he really was..and that's why they needed him, they probably wouldn't have gotten far without daryl

i think my second fave thing ab that deleted scene is how rick takes daryl's words into consideration and checks for himself. he probably already had a feeling bc he's a sheriff but it was a nice way to show he was starting to trust daryl

Daryl really was the only one that was spotting shit at first. Like when he tells Dale how he knew Shane killed Otis. He’s a hunter, his whole deal is trying to figure out his prey’s next move
